So after having completed the maternity session for Shannon later than we had originally planned, Shannon was hoping that little Declan would give her at least another week to 10 days before arriving.

Well that was not to be! It was 4 days later and Declan decided it was time to come and he was here I’m told in 15 minutes… Talk about cutting the maternity shoot down to the wire…and then getting the job done! Kingston Newborn Photographer

A Healthy Pregnancy

A husband and wife chiropractor team were having another baby. A really amazing couple. With three kids already this sure was going to be a fun session and it was.

All dressed in blue jeans, white shorts and bare foot, we went about making some amazing images of the pregnancy and the family of 5 and a half!

A Creative Maternity Session for Shannon

A few days ago we finally managed to make things work for a maternity session that was coming close to Shannon’s due date. She was hopeful that her little one was not going to come early so all was good. Why worry, it was her second and she was comfortable and relaxed as a mother to be might like to be. Most mothers to be that I have spoken to have said “the sooner this comes out the better” but Shannon was quite content and actually wanted her delivery to be late, Shannon had things she wanted to get done before little baby arrived. So on Saturday in the studio, very relaxed and calm, the whole family all together, we created some maternity images of Shannon, including some family too. Kingston Portrait Photography

I always find it fascinating how a little human being fits so well in their mother’s tummy. And little Ava kinda found the idea interesting as well. But of course it was all about her, at age 3 everything is… She was a ham being the ever “is it my turn now?” prop ready to be in all and any photo. The 9 months of carrying your little treasure is such a precious time. Being able to capture creative and contemporary images of maternity and newborns is an honour and a privilege not to be taken lightly. There is an angle in all these mothers…

Newborn Zoe

A few weeks ago I was able to shoot a newborn little girl, the third daughter of Teawna and Craig.

I was looking for a few more newborn shots and when I mentioned this to Teawna, she was excited and jump at the opportunity. When I arrived I was welcomed by Zoe’s 2 sisters. Two cute and adorable little girls. They were both eager to pose and Savana, the oldest, was ever so cute, ready to pose at a moments notice. But more about Zoe since that was the original reason I came to do some creative newborn photography. She is a real cutie and appeared to be happy to just sleep and hang out all day long, posing just perfectly like every newborn baby would want to do.

Well the hit of the day was the stuffy collection. Somehow they provided the necessary comfort and reassurance for some peaceful and magical dreams. Not to take away from the comfort of mom’s arms.

Sydney – newborn

When babies are newborn, they are the most prized addition to any family. Mom and dad love this new little treasure. Her expressions are so cute… She was drooling a lot so we decided to just leave it be and allow the drool to add some character to her beauty. And yes you guessed, she just didn’t want to sleep for us, too excited and curious I guess as to what was going on….
